The following ministries and activities are available to our teens:
EDGE: Middle School Youth Group for 7th and 8th graders from any school. Events are planned throughout the year that are service or social in nature. A week-long camp takes place in the summer.
High School Youth Group: Open to all 9th–12th grade students. The primary focus is integrating the faith into our daily lives. Meetings take place on most Sunday nights from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Youth Center.
Sacramental Classes (RCIT): For 9th–12th grade students who need Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) and/or Penance (Reconciliation). The class meets weekly during the school year.
Retreats: One-day and weekend retreats are offered throughout the course of the year for ongoing spiritual growth and for building community.
Birthday Card Ministry: Young people in 9th–12th grades in the parish receive a birthday card in the mail from our Youth Ministry.
Conferences: On occasion, high school teens travel to national and international conferences. In the past, we have traveled overseas to attend World Youth Day, hosted by the Holy Father. We have also attended the Mount 2000 and National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC).
Living Stations of the Cross: On Good Friday, teens present to our parish the Stations of the Cross through freeze-frame action, reflection, and music. Practices take place on the Sundays of Lent.
Social Activities and Trips: Throughout the year, we partake in community-building activities such as paintball, movie nights, trips to amusement parks, ski slopes, the beach, etc.
Service and Justice Activities: The teens make sandwiches for a local soup kitchen, pray at abortion clinics, participate in the March for Life, coordinate parties for foster children, etc., throughout the year.
Fundraisers: We are actively engaged in fundraising to support Youth Ministry activities. Our annual events vary but have included the Christmas Bazaar, Trivia Nights, and restaurant dinners.
Special Blessings: The teens receive special blessings throughout the year. Examples of such blessings are those for graduates, Confirmation candidates, and new drivers.
